Esta noite aconteceu a mais atípica das cerimónias dos Óscares, a partir da estação de comboios de Los Angeles, e não do Kodak Theatre, como era costume. Sem mestre de cerimónias, como já vem sendo habitual, foi revesando os apresentadores (Regina King, Laura Dern, Don Cheadle, Bryan Cranston, Bong Joon Ho e Sharon Choi, Riz Ahmed, Reese Witherspoon, Marlee Matlin, Steven Yeun, Brad Pitt, Halle Berry, Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Zendaya, Rita Moreno, Renee Zellweger e Joaquin Phoenix), numa cerimónia que resultou mais fluída do que é costume, no que a atribuição de prémios diz respeito. O curioso é que houve mais tempo para discursos de aceitação (nem sempre com bons resultados), com destaque para os de Thomas Vinterberg (que evocou a memória da filha, falecida ao quarto dia de rodagem do filme), Travon Free (que evocou os três americanos que morrem diariamente às mãos da policia americana, com destaque para os de raça negra) e os de Frances McDormand (para melhor filme e melhor actriz), que pediu que vissem “Nomadland” no maior ecrã possível. No lado negativo, foi uma cerimónia chata, desprovida de humor e momentos musicais (aconteceram antes da cerimónia, durante a passadeira vermelha), aquilo que geralmente lhe dava colorido e movimento. E até nos prémios foi uma cerimónia chata, sem nenhuma surpresa digna de nota (a não ser talvez Anthony Hopkins). E o que raio foi aquele quiz quando faltavam apenas 3 prémios para entregar? Ninguém sabe. E a velocidade a que foi debitada a lista das personalidades perdidas no último ano? A maioria nem esteve dois segundos no ecrã. E o facto do Óscar de melhor filme ter sido o antepenúltimo prémio da noite? Serão os actores mais importantes que o filme?
